What is included and not included in the price?

• Cabin accommodation
• Halal meals 3× a day
• Access to all main facilities (waterslide, pools, gym, rock climbing, theatre shows, kids club)
• Port charge

Not included:
• Gratuities (paid on board)
• Wifi (available to buy on the cruise)
• Spa treatments
• Port tours

Question 2

Are there charges to pay on board?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The one mandatory charge is gratuities (tips for the crew), charged at SGD27-SGD40 per pax per night. You can also buy wifi, spa treatments, port tours and so on.

For payment, when you board you register a credit/debit card or leave a cash deposit to set up a cashless account. Everything you spend on board is charged to that account.

How much is the deposit and can I pay in instalments?

Accepted Answer

Pay just a 50% deposit to secure your booking. The balance can be paid in instalments and must be settled 70 days before the sailing date.

Can I cancel or change my date?

Accepted Answer

You can cancel or change, but a charge applies, and the amount depends on when you submit the request. You can read the Payment & Cancellation Policy for more details.

Question 5

Is this cruise for everyone, or Muslims only?

Accepted Answer

This cruise is open to everyone, not just Muslims. The package, price and facilities are the same for all guests. The plus point is that it is Muslim-friendly, serving certified halal food.

What food is served? Is it halal?

Accepted Answer

Yes, halal food is available. You eat 3 buffet meals a day at The Lido, which is halal-certified, and the halal kitchen is kept separate (food is carried up in a dedicated lift so nothing mixes). Genting Dream is the world’s first cruise ship with OIC/SMIIC halal certification. For Muslim guests, The Lido covers all your dining needs. There are also various other restaurants and cafes on board as extra options for all guests.

What is the difference between cabin types? How many people fit in one cabin?

There are 4 cabin types:
• Interior: no window, most affordable
• Oceanview: has a window, sea view
• Balcony: has its own balcony
• The Palace: a luxury suite with a butler and exclusive access to certain facilities

Interior is the cheapest, The Palace the most expensive. One cabin fits a maximum of 4 people (Oceanview 2 only). Children and infants also count as one person each.

Can I go solo?

You can. The price is just calculated for 2 people. You only pay the port charge and gratuities for one person.

Can I get a room next to my family?

Accepted Answer

We will put in a request for nearby rooms, but the final arrangement is decided by the cruise line, so it cannot be guaranteed. Tip: book the same cabin type for a better chance of the same deck and adjacent rooms.

Question 10

How long does the cruise stop at ports? Can I go ashore?

Accepted Answer

If your route stops at a port (e.g. Melaka, Penang or Phuket), the ship usually docks for a few hours up to almost a full day, depending on the schedule.

You are free to go ashore, just make sure you are back before the ship departs. You also have the option to buy a port tour package on board. For "High Seas" routes, the ship does not stop at any port.

Where do I board, and how do I get there? What time does the cruise depart?

The terminal depends on the departure port (the first port in the route):
• From Singapore: Marina Bay Cruise Centre
• From Port Klang: Port Klang Cruise Terminal (PKCT), Pulau Indah

Departure times vary by route, so the full address and exact times will be in the e-ticket we share close to your sailing date. You need to check in and be at the terminal 2-3 hours before departure.

Transport to the terminal and back is your own arrangement, and we suggest pre-booking both as terminals get busy. For one-way routes ending at a different port, the return journey is also your own arrangement.

Is it suitable for children and infants?

Very suitable. There is the Little Dreamers Club, waterslide, pools and many more activities suited to children and infants.

Can pregnant women and infants go on the cruise?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For safety reasons, only these 2 categories are not allowed to sail:
• Pregnant 24 weeks or more at the sailing date
• Infants under 6 months

Do I need a passport to board?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a passport is required for everyone including children and infants. Make sure it is valid at least 6 months from the return date.

I am worried about seasickness. What can I do?

Accepted Answer

Genting Dream is a large, stable ship, so most people feel nothing, especially on shorter routes. If you are sensitive, bring seasickness medication and choose a cabin in the middle of the ship. The onboard clinic also has medication.
