What is included and not included in the price?

Accepted Answer

Included:
• Cabin accommodation
• Halal meals 3× a day
• Port charge and handling fee
• Access to main facilities (swimming pool, Osiris Theatre, kids club, sports deck, duty free, library)

Not included:
• Gratuities (paid on board)
• Wifi (available to buy on the cruise)
• Port tours

Question 2

Are there charges to pay on board?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The one mandatory charge is gratuities (tips for the crew), per person per night:
• Interior and Oceanview: SGD27 (~RM90)
• Balcony and Suite: SGD33 (~RM110)

The RM figures are estimates only and depend on the exchange rate. Infants under 2 are exempt. The port charge and handling fee are already included in your booking price. You can also buy wifi, spa treatments, port tours and so on.

For payment, when you board you register a credit/debit card or leave a cash deposit to set up a cashless account. Everything you spend on board is charged to that account.

How much is the deposit and can I pay in instalments?

Accepted Answer

Pay just a 50% deposit to secure your booking. The balance can be paid in instalments and must be settled 100 days before the sailing date.

Can I cancel or change my date?

Accepted Answer

You can cancel or change, but a charge applies, and the amount depends on when you submit the request. You can read the Payment & Cancellation Policy for more details.

Question 5

Is this cruise for everyone, or Muslims only?

Accepted Answer

Open to everyone, anyone can join. For Muslim passengers, there are halal meals for all 3 daily meals, and you can pray comfortably in your own cabin.

What food is served? Is it halal?

This package includes Halal meals 3× a day on board, with a variety of cuisine choices.

What is the difference between cabin types? How many people fit in one cabin?

Accepted Answer

There are 4 cabin types:

• Interior: no window, the most budget-friendly option.
• Oceanview: has a window.
• Balcony: has your own balcony.
• Suite: spacious with a butler, free spa access and priority boarding/disembarkation.

Interior is the cheapest, Suite the most premium. One cabin fits a maximum of 4 people. The price shown is for the first 2 people; the 3rd and 4th person in the same cabin get a discounted price. Children and infants also count as one person each, by head count.

What is the difference between cabin grades (Classic, Premium, Deluxe)?

Each cabin type comes in a few grades:

• Interior: Classic (windowless, most affordable) and Premium (higher deck, roomier).
• Oceanview: Classic (partially obstructed view) and Premium (round porthole, clear view).
• Balcony: Classic (partially obstructed), Premium (private balcony, open sea view), Deluxe (higher deck) and Super Deluxe (larger cabin & balcony).
• Suite: Suite (spacious, priority service), Suite Deluxe (larger) and Grand Suite (the largest, wide terrace + butler).

Question 9

What does "Obstructed View" mean?

The cabin window is partly blocked by the ship’s structure or a lifeboat, so part of the sea view is obstructed. These cabins (Oceanview Classic and Balcony Classic) are cheaper than the Premium grades, whose view is clear and open. A good pick if you just want a window or balcony at a lower price.

Can I go solo?

You can. The cabin price is just calculated for 2 people, because one cabin has a minimum of 2. You only pay the port charge and gratuities for one person.

Can I get a room next to my family?

Accepted Answer

We will put in a request for nearby cabins, but the final arrangement is decided by the cruise line, so it cannot be guaranteed. Tip: book the same cabin type for a better chance of being on the same deck.

Question 12

How long does the cruise stop at ports? Can I go ashore?

Accepted Answer

If your route stops at a port (e.g. Penang, Langkawi or Phuket), the ship usually docks for a few hours up to almost a full day, depending on the schedule. Yes, you are free to get off and explore on your own, just make sure you are back on board before the ship’s departure time (the crew will announce the return time). If you prefer something more organised, there are tours you can buy on board.

Where do I board, and how do I get there? What time does the cruise depart?

Accepted Answer

All Adora Mediterranea sailings depart from and return to one terminal:
• Port Klang Cruise Terminal (PKCT), Pulau Indah

So there is no flight needed, you go straight from the terminal onto the ship. Check-in usually starts around midday and the ship departs in the late afternoon on the first day. The full address and exact times are in the e-ticket we send after booking, and you need to check in at the terminal a few hours before sailing.

You arrange your own transport to and from the terminal, and we recommend pre-booking it as the terminal gets very busy during embarkation and disembarkation.

Once on board, the cruise is free & easy, with no fixed schedule and no tour guide, so you follow your own pace (the crew are on hand to help anytime). Each day there is a programme of activities, a live show at Osiris Theatre, and plenty of free time to use the ship’s facilities. On the last day, the ship arrives in the morning and you disembark at the time given.

Is it suitable for children and infants?

Very suitable, there is a Kids Club, swimming pool and a range of activities for children. Even better, a child below 12 or an infant cruises free as the 3rd person in a cabin with 2 paying adults (the port charge and handling fee are still counted per person). A 4th person pays 50% regardless of age. Infants under 2 are exempt from gratuities.

Can pregnant women and infants go on the cruise?

Yes. For safety reasons, only these 2 categories are not allowed to sail:
• Pregnant 24 weeks or more at the sailing date
• Infants under 6 months

Question 16

Do I need a passport to board?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the route:
• Domestic routes (stopping only at Penang or Langkawi): no passport needed, your national IC is enough.
• The Phuket, Thailand route: a passport is mandatory for everyone including children, valid for at least 6 months from the return date.

Your document (passport or IC) is also used to confirm your booking, so make sure everyone has a valid document before booking.

Question 17

I am worried about seasickness. What can I do?

Adora Mediterranea is a large ship (over 85,000 tonnes) and stable, so most people feel nothing, especially on shorter routes. If you are sensitive, bring seasickness medication and choose a cabin in the middle of the ship. The onboard clinic also has medication.
